A new study released by the Small Business Administration, Office of Advocacy, shows that immigrant business owners make important contributions to the U.S. economy.
The author of the study, Robert W. Fairlie, Ph.D., concluded that immigrants make a large contribution to the number of business owners and new business owners in the United States. According to the report, immigrant business owners also contribute substantially to total U.S. business income, sales, and employment. In addition, immigrant-owned businesses provide very large business contributions to several states, including Texas.
The study concludes with the statement that "The evidence presented here indicates that immigrants make significant contributions to business ownership, formation, and income in the United States."
